The Hardware Engineering, Shipboard Effectors Department is seeking Mechanical Engineers for our Tucson AZ site supporting full program life cycle, early development, production support, and legacy sustainment activities across the Standard Missile family of programs. This Mechanical Engineering position performs in alignment to expectations in the design, development, and production support areas associated with mechanical designs, validation principles, qualification processes, procurement, and production processes across a design life cycle. Development work may include requirements understanding, concept development, DFMAs, PFMAs, margin analysis, technical data package (TDP) development, application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principals, engineering test principals, preparation of technical analysis reports, and presentations in design reviews. This position is onsite in Tucson, Arizona and will support 2nd shift with a schedule of Monday - Friday 3pm - 12am and may require up to 10% travel to government supplier and other Raytheon facilities. What You Will Do: Technical ownership and execution of tasks may be viewed as a prime technical contact in providing solutions to a wide range of complex technical problems related to the design, manufacture, integration, and production sustainment of various mechanical sub-systems both in the engineering lab and the factory floor both at Raytheon Technologies and at suppliers. Communicate with cross-disciplined engineering team members and suppliers to analyze, model, and document the design technical data package (TDP) and its capabilities and compliance with requirements. Serves in mentor role to junior engineers, providing technical guidance to others within mechanical discipline. Work autonomously with limited supervision, acting as the responsible engineer for major hardware subsystem. This often requires the ability to lead small teams of junior engineers, and collaborate across multiple functions and disciplines, such as supply chain, operations, quality, systems, analysis, and electrical. Perform mechanical design, development, and documentation of components, sub-assemblies, and major end items for defense system equipment in accordance with system requirements. Collaborate with Raytheon factories and suppliers with new product integration and manufacturing process improvements. Perform and review tolerance analysis to ensure form, fit, and function are as intended by design for the use-application. Improve new and existing designs using Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) and Design for Producibility principles. Apply knowledge and experience in technical problem solving and hardware development in a fast paced, team environment. Support production of various mechanical sub-systems at internal factories and suppliers. Support first hardware builds and first article inspections. Review manufacturing process instructions and support material review board dispositions. Perform root cause investigations on hardware of production related issues. Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires a bachelor's degree in science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience. An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience. Five years of work experience in mechanical design and design documentation. The IR Technologist will work alongside the Interventional Radiologist and RN to assist in the performance of diagnostic angiographic procedures as well as complex vascular and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures. He/she is responsible for obtaining all equipment needed for a procedure, positioning and imaging patients, resolving equipment issues, and demonstrating knowledge of human anatomy, radiation safety, interventional supplies, and equipment operation to include fluoroscopy, US, and ancillary therapeutic devices. The IR technologist must prepare, administer, and document contrast given throughout procedure. Responsible for corroborating a patient's clinical history with procedure and ensuring information documented and available for use by clinician. Using their patient care skills, he/she must provide good communication, patient assessment, and patient monitoring. The IR technologist is responsible for post processing digital data for display or hard copy records, ensuring technical quality and proper identification is evident. Periodic weekend and off hour call will be required. Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology. Experience: At least 1 year of X-Ray experience. Required Registration/Certification: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R), required. Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required , either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider Physical Requirements : Ability to perform job functions while standing.
