Job Description RWJBarnabas Health and Newark Beth Israel Medical Center are seeking a clinical leader to serve as Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine in Newark, NJ. RWJBarnabas Health, the largest integrated healthcare system in New Jersey, is currently seeking a board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician to serve as the Chair in the Emergency Medicine Department at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. This is a great opportunity for an eager physician to join a well-established, multi-disciplinary team alongside a strong support staff including advanced practice providers with the goal of providing high-level care. NBIMC is a major teaching facility, and an affiliate of Rutgers University. The Newark Beth Israel Department of Emergency Medicine is home to an ACGME accredited 3-year Emergency Medicine Residency Program with 24 residents, and also offers a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship, EMS/Disaster Medicine Fellowship, Simulation Fellowship, and an Ultrasound Fellowship. There is a separate Pediatric ED, RDU (Rapid Diagnostic Unit) staffed by ED Physicians, and a separate Fast Track/Intake area for lower acuity patients. Another important aspect is that the RWJBH System is comprised of collaborative service lines of employed physicians and APPs - such as Hospital Medicine, Critical Care, Anesthesia, Radiology and Mobile Health. All of these services report up to the Chief Clinical officer and work together synergistically to improve efficiency, safety, quality and patient experience. New staff will be required to meet the high standards of healthcare in accordance with policies adopted by the medical staff, hospital administration, and the Board of Trustees.
