Responsibilities Manage a caseload of civil litigation defense matters from inception through resolution Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda Take and defend depositions Appear for hearings, conferences, mediations, and other proceedings (remote and in-person as needed) Prepare cases for trial and assist with or lead trial efforts where applicable Communicate directly with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and the courts Develop case strategy and analyze liability, damages, and risk exposure Collaborate with attorneys and staff in a remote team environment Qualifications 3 years of civil litigation defense experience Experience in insurance defense, general liability, or similar litigation work Strong background in depositions, discovery, and motion practice Trial experience or meaningful trial exposure strongly preferred Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload Strong written and oral advocacy skills Requirements Active bar admission in Vermont and/or New Hampshire, or ability to waive in Massachusetts bar admission strongly preferred Additional bar admissions are a significant plus Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to manage deadlines and multiple matters simultaneously Comfortable working in a fully remote environment Interested in hearing more?
