Structures Engineer Location: Wichita, KS Job ID: 72518 Pay Range: $100-120 an hour 12 month contract Job Summary The Structures / Fatigue and Damage Tolerance engineer will be responsible and involved in all aspects of our products. From continued field support of legacy to on-going line support and aftermarket product enhancements. Emphasis is on ensuring that the airframe is both durable (free from cracks) and tolerant of the unexpected damage that might occur during its operational life. Candidates may come from a variety of industries including aircraft, spacecraft, maritime, or weapon systems. Preferred candidate will have experience with Boeing aircraft programs and tools. Planning work packages are produced in MESci using the BOM and CAPP modules. Experience reading electrical pin out data from WIRS data preferred. Focus of role will be on electrical installation planning, which will primarily consist of wire harness installations and related systems, however, experience in planning for structures, hydraulics, fuel, oxygen, waste water, or ECS is a plus. This role will report to Butler project leadership and will interact primarily within the Butler team of peers, project lead, and checkers. Uniquely qualified candidates may have checking or small team leadership experience. Candidates must be able to be granted Boeing system access. Desired experience includes: Experience in creation and/or revision of manufacturing process plans for aerospace assembly or installation. Experience in creation and/or revision of manufacturing process plans for wire harness installation. Familiarity with aerospace electrical connectors, electrical hardware, and mechanical fasteners. Prior experience with Boeing processes and specifications. For example adhesives & sealants, electrical bonding & grounding, and fastener torque. Prior experience with Boeing commercial aircraft: 737, 747, 777, 787. Responsibilities: Creation of process plans, following plan guidance, and using templates. Incorporation of check comments.
