Asphalt Plant Technician

Position Summary The Asphalt Plant Technician plays a vital role in supporting daily asphalt plant operations by safely operating heavy equipment, performing general labor duties, assisting with plant maintenance, and ensuring the efficient production of quality asphalt materials. This position requires a versatile individual with equipment operating experience, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and willing to perform a variety of tasks to support plant operations and production goals. Operate loaders, skid steers, forklifts, and other equipment as required to support plant operations. Manage aggregate stockpiles and load materials into plant systems while maintaining proper material segregation. Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on equipment and report any deficiencies. Assist with asphalt plant startup, shutdown, and production activities. Monitor material inventory levels and communicate plant needs to supervisors. Perform routine plant housekeeping including shoveling, sweeping, cleanup, and grounds maintenance. Assist with preventative maintenance activities and minor repairs on plant equipment and components. Troubleshoot basic mechanical issues and notify management of more complex repairs. Support plant mechanics with maintenance and repair projects as needed. Utilize plant operating systems and computer controls to assist with plant production and inventory management. Inspect equipment and plant components to identify potential maintenance concerns. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment throughout the facility. Work collaboratively with plant personnel, truck drivers, mechanics, and management to achieve production goals. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Previous experience working at an asphalt plant, aggregate facility, construction materials plant, or similar industrial environment preferred. Experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, skid steers, forklifts, excavators, or similar equipment preferred. Basic mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform routine maintenance and assist with equipment repairs. Basic computer skills and the ability to learn plant operating systems and production software. Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, safety procedures, and operational instructions. Valid driver's license required. CDL is a plus. Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime as production schedules require. Collects and analyzes sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases. Administers treatment prescribed by a physician for the care of patients with abnormalities associated with the process of breathing.
