From our Freeport, Maine distribution center, we help ensure customers across the country receive the quality products they know and trust—and our warehouse team makes it all happen. As we look ahead to the busy holiday season, we’re hiring for multiple warehouse roles on both 1st and 2nd shifts, offering opportunities to be part of a fast-moving, team-driven environment. Some of these positions are available starting this summer, while others are available in the fall. But no matter the start date, all of these jobs play a direct role in delivering the L.L.Bean experience. This is active, hands-on work. Whether you’re moving product, preparing customer orders, or operating equipment, every task matters. Here is some basic info about our warehouse jobs: Pay range is $18.00 - $25.00/hr., depending on position, shift, and rehire experience. 1st Shift Hours are between 6:30am-3:30pm. Days of operation are Sunday–Friday, with potential for Saturday pick-up shifts according to business needs. 2nd Shift Hours are between 4:00pm-1:00am. Days of operation are Sunday–Thursday, with potential for Friday shifts according to business needs. Minimum availability: Candidates must be available at least 18 hours per week (three 6-hour days) Maximum availability: potential for 40 hours per week (actual hours worked are based on business need) These are temporary roles that are expected to last through the holiday peak season and may continue through February 2027, depending on business needs. Be sure to check them out! Packing – Scan items out of totes, verify orders, generate outbound shipping documents, and pack orders. Packing Video Ability to stand entire shift. Basic math and ability to understand, speak and read English. Experienced using computers, familiar with Windows based applications, able to learn new applications quickly. Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to multitask and /or change tasks frequently. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment Physical demands – Stand entire shift. Ability to reach 57” from the floor; lift, pull, and lower totes weighing between 11-30lbs for entire shift. Reach over shoulder repeatedly. Picking – Use a hand-held scanner and mobile task device, collect selected units into totes and transfer to conveyor belts. Picking Video Able to perform basic and repetitive computer functions alone with ability to learn new computer systems. Ability to walk entire shift, between 6-8 miles, and use a step ladder. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to multitask and /or change tasks frequently. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment. Basic math and ability to understand, speak, and read English. Physical demands- Walk /stand entire shift. Frequently lift up to 10lbs. Climb ladders and stairs to access upper shelves, crouching to access lower shelf. Weight limit for pick carts is 300-350lbs. Pack Monogramming – Primary job is to safely operate a computerized monogramming machine used to personalize items for customers. May also be trained in Pack Seasonal job as needed per business conditions. Pack Monogramming Video Basic math, measuring skills, and ability to understand, speak, and read English. Experienced using computers, familiar with Windows based applications, able to learn new application quickly. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Constantly re-thread needles, required to wear safety glasses for entire shift. Differentiate colors, symbols, and numerals. Physical demands - Stand entire shift. Lift/carry totes weighing 20-30 lbs. from conveyance to the working surface on a frequent basis. Material Handler – Safely and accurately perform a variety of material transfer functions. Repetitive handling and lifting of cases, up to 50 lbs. Stack pallets and move workstation replenishment supplies. Ensure flow of work is constant, identify and respond to conveyor jams/work stoppages, and identify problem resolution cases. Material Handler Video Basic math and ability to understand, speak, and read English. Able to perform basic computer functions alone. Physical demands – Stand/Walk entire shift (approx. 9 miles). Bend, lift, grab, reach over shoulder and squat, repeatedly. Climb ladders and stairs. Pull pallet jack. Push U-boats. Carry and lift up to 50 lbs. to a height of 54” overhead frequently. Returns Processing - Read handwritten English or printed text instructions verifying type of return. Navigate through multiple computer systems and screens to process items back to inventory. Ability to quickly assess and determine how best to complete the return is critical. Returns Processing Video Demonstrate above average computer skills, familiar with Windows based applications, able to learn new applications quickly. Basic math and ability to understand, speak and read English. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and an eye for quality Ability to multitask and /or change tasks frequently. Make decisions quickly and independently. Physical demands - Stand/Walk entire shift, frequently lift up to 10lbs; infrequently up to 20 lbs., push totes onto takeaway belt. Stocking – Safely and accurately perform a variety of material transfer functions. Repetitive handling and lifting of cases up to 50 lbs., cut cases with knife, offload and stack cases, transfer U-boats full of cases. Induct cases onto belt using vacuum assist device. Stocking Video Basic math and ability to understand, speak, and read English. Able to perform basic and repetitive computer functions alone with ability to learn new computer systems. Strong attention to detail and accuracy Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment Physical demands- Stand/Walk entire shift (approx. 9 miles). Lift up to 50 lbs. over-head frequently. Bend, lift, grab, reach over shoulder and squat, repeatedly. Machine Operator – Safely and accurately perform various duties on an Order Picker machine including putting away, pulling, and stocking cases, retrieving individual orders, transferring totes to conveyor belts, and other related duties. Machine Operator Video Basic math and ability to understand, speak, and read English. Solid communication and interpersonal skills Able to perform basic computer and machine skills alone and learn new systems. Multitask, change tasks frequently, strong attention to detail. Previous experience with machines in a warehouse preferred/not required. Full availability preferred. Comfortable working at heights and in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment Physical demands -Stand entire shift. Maximum operator height of 6’4”and minimum operator height of 5’3”.
