Duties Perform scheduled hygiene procedures and treatments Ensure all necessary informed consent forms and treatment plans are signed by the patient Provide proper cleanings using dental instruments during semi-annual prophy and Scaling & Root Planing appointments Use periodontal probe to locate recession and signs of gum disease; provide oral cancer screenings Records and reviews patient medical histories; charts existing conditions and conditions of decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by dentist Maintain all applicable licenses and ensure all credentialing and CE requirements are met Maintain strict compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations including OSHA, WC, State Dental Board, HIPAA, ADA, DOL, and Practice HR policies Previous experience as a registered dental hygienist (Preferred) Experience with digital radiography and dental software. (Preferred) Knowledge of advanced periodontal care and treatment protocols. (Preferred) Additional certifications in local anesthesia or sedation (Preferred) Experience with Open Dental Software (Preferred) Certifications and Education Bachelor’s degree or the successful completion of a recognized vocational program in dental hygiene required.
