In this role, you will learn and be responsible for the set-up, calibration, and operation of automated chemical application equipment used to apply protective chemicals to carbon aircraft brakes. You’ll also complete manual chemical application processes and leverage automated riveting equipment to fasten hardware to the brake components. On the job training is provided as you learn and advance through a well-defined progression roadmap. The Finishing Department is responsible for three primary requirements: apply protective coating to prevent oxidation, manage material flow in and out of ovens for chemical curing, and fasten required hardware as part of the final assembly of carbon products for installation into aircraft brake assemblies. The Finishing department operates and maintains Fanuc brand robots for most of the coating processes and employees must undergo significant, company-provided training to perform this work. Repetitive movement of material less than 25 lbs. is required in some process steps to load/unload machines, conduct visual and mechanical inspections, and weigh and stack material. While some processes are manual, most of the work in this department is automated for ergonomic and safety reasons so confidence in troubleshooting digital and mechanical issues for equipment is a must.
