CNC Operator

Job Description Job Description Objective: We are seeking an experienced CNC Operator to set up and operate CNC machinery for production runs of commercial cabinetry. Current equipment being used is Weeke point to point, BHX vertical CNC. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Produce projects with efficiency, quality and to our standards. Load and position proper material to be machined onto CNC. Plans machining by studying work orders, engineering plans, materials, specifications, and machining parameters. Understand proper tooling set up, measuring, and calibration. Select proper program(s) and tooling required for each operation. Monitor machinery and material to ensure compliance with quality standards and detect programming issues. Perform preventative maintenance to machinery in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Properly label and stage machined parts for preparation of next operation. Stage material to load as efficiently as possible. Inspect parts for quality and finish. Call out errors in the programs, operations, tooling, or materials to the Plant Manager so they can address. Understand what tooling is available and notify Plant Manager if tooling breaks, needs sharpening, or needs to be ordered. Understand operational order of milling (crosscut before ripping, etc.) Develop an understanding as to how different materials machine. (I.E. Solid surface, hardwoods, softwoods, composite materials) Mill Captain will provide guidance. Understand the equipment’s capabilities and how to efficiently produce product. Follow machine established guidelines to insert and safely secure tooling. RESPONSIBILITIES: Read and interpret shop drawings. Communicate effectively with management and coworkers to achieve company goals. Follow procedures and standardize practice to obtain maximum efficiency.
