Position Summary The IT Vendor Manager, Expert will play a pivotal role in PG&E’s Propel program, overseeing the lifecycle of multiple strategic 3rd party contracts. This role is responsible for ensuring that all parties adhere to the agreed terms, tracking key milestones, and managing renewals or amendments. The ideal candidate will be responsible monitoring, analysis, compliance & reporting while working with other departments to ensure consistent compliance practices are followed. Reporting Relationship The IT Vendor Manager, Expert will report directly to Director of Propel. This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The range to reasonably expect will be around the minimum and the midpoint. The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. Bay Area Min: $114,000 Bay Area Mid: $148,000 Bay Area Max: $182,000 &/OR California Min: $108,000 California Mid: $141,000 California Max $173,000 Job Responsibilities: Responsible for the supplier relationship management of critical system integration partners. Manages complex contracts and change order terms including, but not limited to, interpretation of contract terms and mitigation of risks, working with key stakeholders. Develops complex scorecards to assess contract performance. Independently facilitates vendor performance discussions. Negotiates major dispute settlement with internal stakeholders and vendors. Creates new and innovative approaches, tools and tactics to solve complex problems. Leads cross-functional projects or process improvement initiatives. Trains stakeholders on policy and complex contract issues. Provides quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) oversight for the contract performance team. Develops contract audit plan. Keeps track of program contracts and their associated obligations Analyzes contracts for potential compliance issues. Identifies and resolves discrepancies or non-compliance issues. Evaluates the effectiveness of compliance programs and procedures. Conducts audits and inspections to verify compliance. Communicates compliance requirements to all relevant stakeholders. Prepares reports on contract compliance activities and outcomes. Minimum: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Seven (7) years of direct experience in a similar role with ability to navigate complex sourcing strategies and contract compliance for large scale digital transformations (e.g. managing system integrator services and software professional services) while managing sophisticated contracts to minimize value leakage. Desired: Master’s degree in related discipline Certification such as one of the following or related: Project Management Professional (PMP) Program Management Professional (PgMP) Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Experience with quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) regarding contract documents. The work of this department is critical in our efforts to find compliance challenges and identify areas of risk so that we can fix them. The Investigator will be responsible for investigating incidents or items of interest. The investigations could be of interest to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), or other areas of compliance risk to determine the cause and any corrective or preventive measures to mitigate reoccurrence. Stand up new Electric Compliance Assurance FERC team and transition to steady-state. Ensure framework for implementing tools and processes to improve quality and timeliness of reports/deliverables. Determine most effective department metrics to measure performance against annual or longer-term goals and objectives for time bound projects or ongoing operational work. Regularly presents department scorecard to senior management and adjusts based on business needs. Develop/refine scope and process of team, including how to prioritize scope. Manage team to investigate areas of interest for FERC Compliance, which may include working with PG&Es Legal team. Perform technical review of investigation reports of varying risk. Manage team to prepare Apparent Cause Evaluations (ACEs), Workgroup Evaluations (WGEs), or similar, including identifying corrective actions and gaining consensus with senior leadership to mitigate risk. Manage team to identify and summarize compliance risk concerns, including forecasting potential Notices of Violation (NOVs), self-reports, or equivalent. Manage team to prepare and submit responses to data requests. Prepare and present summary of findings and risk to PG&E to senior and executive leaders. Responsible for the regulatory compliance of the department’s programs. Work with regulators and other internal LOBs to ensure department meets regulatory rule changes, updating supporting processes as appropriate. Effectively maneuver through complex organizational situations without disruption, routinely resolving escalations to Director-level, Vice President-level and above. Manage staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management and rewards and recognition. Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and executing scripts, programs, models, algorithms, and processes using structured and unstructured data from diverse sources and of varying sizes. The goal is to generate defensible, valid, scalable, reproducible, and well-documented machine learning and artificial intelligence models (predictive or optimization) to support problem-solving and strategic decision-making. The role also involves active participation in internal and external communities of practice in data science, AI, and machine learning to stay current and contribute to advancements in the field. Additionally, the candidate will help educate non-technical stakeholders on the benefits, limitations, and maturity of data science solutions. In this role, the successful candidate will be uniquely positioned at the forefront of utility industry analytics.
