Job Description Join our Team at the Department of Veterans VA Medical Center, San Francisco, CA as a Physician - Genomics Section Chief! The mission of the VISN 21 CRH Genomics Program is to provide comprehensive genetics care to Veterans with limited access to genetics care locally. This individual is responsible for developing the strategic and operational plan and executing on the clinical programs, ensuring that CRH services are completed at the highest standard. In this position, you will be responsible for establishing health plans and medical policies. The Associate Medical Director provides guidance to areas within departments of the Texas Children's Health Plan (TCHP); oversees assigned functions of the health plan; provides support, education, and consultation to Texas Children's System staff and physicians, regarding resource utilization, managed care and continuity of care issues. Job Duties & Responsibilities - Working with the CMOs and Medical Directors, you will oversee and provide recommendations to continuously improve the implementation of medical management programs as outlined in the policy and procedures. The programs include discharge planning; case and referral management; and the use of clinical protocols and medical review criteria. Working with the CMOs provides input into the development of standards for behavioral health care, practice guidelines, and medication management. TeamHealth has a new day shift hospitalist opening at St. David's Georgetown Hospital in Austin, Texas. This is an established program between TeamHealth and HCA staffed with internal medicine hospitalists and nocturnists that are all local to Austin. Our physicians work a traditional 7-on, 7-off schedule. St. David's Georgetown has 118 beds but only 50 beds are handled by the hospitalist program. We are currently staffing with 2 daytime physicians (7a-7p); 1 swing physician (2p-7p), and 1 nocturnist physician (7p-7a). This is a closed ICU setting, averaging 20-22 total patient encounters per day shift clinician and an average of 7 admissions at night, seeing 60-70 cross coverage patients.
