The Drug and Alcohol Treatment Clinic (DAT) Medical Director is responsible for managing psychopharmacological clinics for patients served in DAT Clinic. DAT is a group-based program that also provides care coordination and pharmacotherapy treatment for substance use disorders with or without co-occurring mental health conditions. Support Veterans Justice Outreach program. Major duties include but may not be limited to: Participate in an effective clinical program with attention to patient outcome indicators Practice within the scope of assigned privileges. Comply with the bylaws, rules and regulations of the facility and agency. Meet medical staff criteria for initial appointment and reappointment, including ongoing CME. Comply with prescribed record keeping practices in accordance with the rules, regulations and bylaws. Comply with prescribed information security policy and procedures. Work effectively with patients, families, staff, coworkers and other health care professionals. Participate in Medical Service educational activities and scheduled meetings. Comply with assigned Peer Reviews and maintaining quality assurance standards. Complete all assigned health record reviews, peer reviews, etc., within the identified timeframes. Benefits and Features Expected Salary Range from $300K - $315K (negotiable based on candidate's qualifications, credentials and experience). The South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS) is seeking a skilled, compassionate, and motivated Physician to serve as the Outpatient Section Chief for the Spinal Cord Injury/Disorders (SCI/D) Service at the Audie Murphy VA Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. This is a full-time, leadership-focused clinical and administrative role supporting one of the nation's largest and most respected VA healthcare systems. Position Overview The SCI/D Outpatient Section Chief provides both hands-on clinical care and high-level administrative leadership. The role supports four other physicians and a multidisciplinary clinical team providing care to approximately 600 Veterans living with spinal cord injuries or disorders.
