Job Title RN PCU / Stepdown Location Youngstown, OH Schedule / Job Type Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift | Onsite Key Responsibilities Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate treatment effectiveness in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team. Administer and titrate cardiac drips including heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, nitroglycerin, and insulin; manage patients with central lines, chest tubes, wound vacs, and multiple drains. Monitor and interpret telemetry waveforms and cardiac strips; manage patients on Airvo, continuous BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen. Serve as the primary point of contact for care coordination across hospital departments, including communication with family members and caregivers. Anticipate and respond to rapidly changing patient conditions, applying evidence-based clinical judgment across a primarily cardiac patient population including AFib, CHF, pre/post cath, open heart, respiratory, renal, stroke/TIA, and ICU stepdown transfers. Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and advocate for patient safety, spiritual care, palliative care, and ethical considerations. Required Qualifications Current RN license in the state of practice or covered under a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to direct patient care. ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required. NIH Stroke Certification required. Dysrhythmia Exam required (study guide available upon onboarding). Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; at least 6 months in an acute care hospital setting. Preferred Experience / Skills Previous cardiac and/or vascular nursing experience strongly preferred. CCRN or PCCN certification preferred. Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) system preferred. Completion of a Critical Care Course preferred.
