Job Description Job Description We are looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic / Reefer & Trailer Technician to join our team! This position will focus on maintaining and repairing Freightliner Cascadia tractors, reefer trailers, refrigeration units, and trailer equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic abilities, trailer repair experience, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (“PM”) services, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on Freightliner Cascadia trucks, reefer trailers, and trailer equipment. Diagnose and repair Thermo King and/or Carrier reefer units, trailer electrical systems, air systems, brake systems, suspension components, and trailer structural components. Perform repairs including valve adjustments, clutch replacements, engine repairs, cylinder head gasket replacements, trailer suspension work, brake jobs, trailer lighting repairs, air leaks, and drivetrain repairs. Repair and maintain dry van, reefer, and trailer components including: Trailer brakes & wheel seals Air systems & ABS systems Suspension systems Trailer wiring & lighting Landing gear Doors, hinges, and trailer structural repairs Reefer unit diagnostics and repairs Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, cooling systems, charging systems, air conditioning systems, and engine electronics. Perform emergency roadside service calls as needed. Respond to dispatched maintenance and repair requests in a timely manner. Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, battery inspections, lubrication, and fluid services. Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck and trailer systems including: Diesel engines Manual & automatic transmissions Braking systems Suspension systems Air systems Electrical systems Reefer units and trailer components Inspect, test, and diagnose defective equipment using handheld diagnostic software, gauges, and testing equipment. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, jacks, and diagnostic equipment safely and efficiently. Accurately complete DOT paperwork, repair orders, inspection reports, and maintenance documentation. Road test vehicles to verify repairs and diagnose issues. Maintain productivity while working independently and managing daily repair schedules. Manage parts inventory and maintain cleanliness and organization of company service equipment and work areas. Communicate with management regarding repair status, approvals, parts needs, and diagnostic findings. Follow all OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company safety regulations and procedures. Participate in all required company safety meetings and training. Maintain company-issued service truck and complete pre-trip/post-trip inspections if applicable.
