Gilbane is seeking a Business Leader II to be responsible for the overall success of GRS Disaster Response , a subsidiary of Gilbane that delivers a single-source disaster response approach to reconstruction after unforeseen events. GRS delivers a collaborative service model to help maximize owner control over restoration scope, costs, and schedule while seeking to minimize conflicts with property insurance settlements and provide a timely, cost-effective approach to our clients along with the information necessary to allow them to make the most informed decisions in dealing with the loss. Responsibilities Experienced, highly networked leader from the large loss reconstruction or insurance industry. Deep understanding of operational execution and ability to recruit talent to build a highly effective team. Take action to prevent erosion, forecast slippage, risks and project financial performance within the Geography. Develop, document and execute business strategy for the Geography. Leverage Shared Services and implement One Company systems, programs and processes per the Baseline. Is an entrepreneur (business savvy), has or creates deep relationships and experience to be the face of the market including the understanding of the local dynamics (business environment, politics, etc.). Rain maker and responsible for identifying and securing new clients and driving client satisfaction. Understand Competitive Intelligence and how to position Gilbane within the Geography. Lead and actively participate in pre/post award activities including go/no go, kickoff meetings, management reviews, fee‑pro review, contract review, estimate/GMP review, contract negotiations. Monitor safety results on all projects and, in collaboration with Safety Director, implement corrective actions when needed. Drive and lead Employee Engagement and Retention for the Geography. Serve as a Principal on key projects. Model GRS Culture and Core Values. Meet established Sales/Gross Profit goals for GRS. Model efforts for Gilbane Cares, Inclusion and Diversity, ESG and Gilbane’s Core Values. Partners with business development to ensure seamless integration with sales strategies, client capture plans and account plans. Optimizes profit levers and gross profit margin tactics to achieve performance targets on new sales. Leads opportunities to strengthen client, partner, and industry relationships that help position Gilbane as the Builder of Choice. Responsible for the career development and coaching of employees through a team of managers. Fosters a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team members. Drives the long‑term strategic vision for the organization, serving as a bridge between Executive leadership and operational teams and ensuring alignment of departmental goals with the overarching vision. Provides strategic insights and recommendations to executive leadership for informed decision‑making. Qualifications BS or MS degree in Business, Engineering or Construction Management preferred. 15 years relevant experience in loss reconstruction, insurance, or related field. Or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of design/engineering, direct procurement strategies and execution, construction equipment and materials. Excellent negotiating skills. Strong analytical skills. Demonstrates a sense of urgency and proactive approach that is results focused. Experience implementing Lean methodologies.
