Position Summary: The Senior Manager of Electric NERC Compliance provides strategic leadership for NERC compliance by guiding mitigation planning, shaping risk-based decisions, aligning cross-functional partners, and influencing policy and regulatory strategy across WECC, FERC and CAISO. It also leads organizational execution by building strong internal controls, driving key initiatives, monitoring business KPIs and indicators, and developing high-performing teams to strengthen compliance outcomes and enterprise readiness. Leaders within Electric Risk & Compliance consistently show strengths in: Leading alignment and integration of initiatives; providing visibility into progress; facilitating cross-functional working groups and committees; and ensuring consistent communication in executive updates. You will be responsible for managing the financial support services to the Line of Business, serving as a business partner focal for all finance and accounting, including planning, budget, forecasting, tools, and optimization analysis. Additionally, activities include supporting the broader Electric Operations Finance team through governance, cost correction, data integrity, and necessary accounting duties. The Compliance Insights team provides strategic, comprehensive data analysis, reporting, and data-driven insights that support Electric compliance, investigations, and risk management. Position Summary: As the Sr. Manager, Electric Compliance Controls on the Compliance and Risk Insights team, you will help identifying and implementing Electric’s compliance controls in accordance with the electric compliance requirements and processes. The role focuses on Compliance Controls, addresses the control inventory and design evaluation needed to manage risk applies compliance, risk, and quality expertise to against PG&E’s Compliance Maturity Model and align program design with recognized standards for effective compliance and ethics programs, including the U.S. Department of Justice Federal Sentencing Guidelines. Position Summary Designs, develops, and executes scripts, programs, models, algorithms, and processes, using structured and unstructured data from disparate sources and sizes, generating for defensible, valid, scalable, reproducible models (predictive or optimization) for problem solving and strategy development. Participates in internal and external communities of practice in data science/artificial intelligence/machine learning to advance knowledge in the field. Educates the non-technical community on advantages, risks, and maturity levels of data science solutions. This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned location based on business need. Regular presence is required in San Ramon, once every two weeks. Job Responsibilities Researches and applies advanced knowledge of existing and emerging data science principles, theories, and techniques to inform business decisions. Creates advanced data mining architectures / models / protocols, statistical reporting, and data analysis methodologies to identify trends in structured and unstructured data sets Extracts, transforms, and loads data from dissimilar sources from across PG&E Applies data science/ machine learning /artificial intelligence methods to develop defensible and reproducible predictive or optimization models that involve multiple facets and iterations in algorithm development. Writes and documents reusable python functions and modular python code for data science. Assesses business implications associated with modeling assumptions, inputs, methodologies, technical implementation, analytic procedures and processes, and advanced data analysis. Works with sponsor departments and company subject matter experts to understand application and potential of data science solutions that create value. Presents findings and makes recommendations to senior management. Act as peer reviewer of complex models Qualifications Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Physics, Econometrics or Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Sciences, Statistics, or equivalent field 6 years in data science OR no experience, if possess Doctoral Degree or higher, as described above Desired: Doctorate Degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, or job-related discipline or equivalent experience Relevant industry (electric or gas utility, renewable energy, analytics consulting, etc.) experience Active participation in the external data science/artificial intelligence/machine learning community of practice, as demonstrated through volunteering in professional organizations for the advancement of the field, presentations in conferences or publications to disseminate data science knowledge and topics, or similar activities. It partners cross-functionally to manage compliance requirements, strengthen controls, and enable risk-based oversight through effective monitoring, data, and reporting. The Compliance Insights team provides strategic, comprehensive data analysis, reporting, and data-driven insights that support Electric compliance, investigations, and risk management. Position Summary: As the Sr. Manager, Electric Compliance Controls on the Compliance and Risk Insights team, you will help identifying and implementing Electric’s compliance controls in accordance with the electric compliance requirements and processes. The role focuses on Compliance Controls, addresses the control inventory and design evaluation needed to manage risk applies compliance, risk, and quality expertise to against PG&E’s Compliance Maturity Model and align program design with recognized standards for effective compliance and ethics programs, including the U.S. Department of Justice Federal Sentencing Guidelines. You will stand-up a multi-year strategy for compliance controls and reporting improvement and lead development of a robust controls program within the Electric organization. You will partner with process owners and leadership to identify risks, document control activities, and support testing and remediation activities across key business processes.
