Job Description Job Description Job Summary Sunset Industries has been manufacturing and assembling high-precision components for more than 66 years across the Aerospace, Nuclear, and Industrial markets. We have a strong reputation for quality and customer service. The 26,000 sqft facility and production area are very clean and air conditioned located in Mentor, OH. As an intermediate-advanced level CNC machinist , you will be a key member in our CNC area performing set-up and running production on a variety of CNC mills and/or lathes with Fanuc / Mitsubishi controls. The candidate must be a team player with an attitude of helpfulness that supports the operation. The successful candidate will need to be reliable, organized, flexible, and possess communication skills with a willingness to collaborate amongst the team. Key Responsibilities Set-up and operate CNC machines to produce precision components for the aerospace industry. Interpret technical prints and understand the requirements (GD&T basic knowledge required). Set-up CNC machines using proven programs, cutting jaws and touching off tools and setting work coordinates. Measure and examine completed parts to verify conformance to specifications using precision tools like micrometers, height stands, comparators Make offset adjustments as needed to maintain print specifications. Conduct maintenance and troubleshooting on machines, ensuring they operate smoothly and efficiently Keep a detailed record of processes, tool usage, and production output Adhered to safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment Collaborate with engineers / programmers to improve manufacturing processes Expand your knowledge of the CNC machining trade by learning from peers Qualifications CNC set up experience in mill or turn: 5 year minimum Self-starter mentality – the ability to work in a timely manner with limited supervision High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree welcomed Strong work ethic and reliability Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Good communication and teamwork skills Ability to stand for extended periods and lift materials as needed Attention to detail and quality What We Offer On-the-job training and skill development Cross-training opportunities across departments Clear path for advancement within operations and production Supportive, team-oriented workplace Competitive compensation and benefits package This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to continue their career in CNC manufacturing.
