Job Description Job Description SUMMARY: This position is primarily responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance, as directed by the Truck Shop foreman, on vehicles ranging from autos and pickups through class 8 trucks and trailers, knuckle-boom cranes, forklifts, small motor driven equipment and other rental equipment. Perform specialized repairs on diesel engines and GM vehicles with precision and adherence to manufacturer specifications. Conduct welding and other fabrication tasks when necessary for auto body repair or structural modifications. Maintain detailed records of work performed for each vehicle and communicate findings clearly to customers. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment at all times. Skills Proven dealership experience with a strong understanding of automotive diagnostics and repair procedures. Proficiency in reading automotive schematics and electrical systems. Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems including transmissions, powertrain components, suspension, steering, and alignment. Experience working with diesel engines, auto body repairs, welding, and auto estimating is preferred. Familiarity with automotive electrical systems and troubleshooting complex electronic issues such as ADAS. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment required for automotive repair tasks. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients.
