Fitter/Welder candidates must be able to read and understand shop drawings. They will be required to fit and weld components in accordance with weld procedures accounting for weld shrinkage with minimal supervision. All fit-up and welds are inspected by in-house and/or customer CWI’s. ABW administers in-house testing and certification. In addition to welder qualification testing, Fitter/Welders will be evaluated on their ability to read and understand drawings, tolerances, and welding procedures. ASME pressure vessel / tank manufacturing experience preferred, familiarity with nozzle schedules, weld maps, flux core and submerged arc experience is beneficial. Pay rates are based on the number of welding processes and qualified positions that welders are certified for and dependent upon weld test results at time of interview. Overtime and Weekend Work is also available and will occasionally be mandatory.
