Director of Client Strategy

Reporting to: Head of Strategic Partnerships, in close partnership with the CEO | Location: New York City This role is not for everyone. We are not looking for someone who waits to be directed. We are not looking for someone who needs a detailed brief before they can move, or who surfaces problems only after they have become crises. We are looking for someone whose default is go — who takes an idea from conversation to execution with minimal hand-holding, who over-prepares not because they are asked to but because showing up any other way would bother them, and who has the judgment to know the difference between a moment to push forward, a moment to stop and rethink, and a moment to escalate immediately. That last one matters as much as the other two. The best people in this kind of role don’t just move fast — they know when to move fast, when to pause and check, and when to say: I need five minutes with you before I go further. That calibration is not something we can teach. It is something we need you to already have. If that is how you naturally operate, this role will feel like it was built for you. Neuro-Insight is the world’s preeminent neuro-marketing firm. For fifteen years, we have measured subconscious human responses with a methodology that correlates to real-world behavioral outcomes at 86%. We hold the world’s largest database of long-term memory and emotion, built across 70,000 brain recordings and a client roster that includes some of the most sophisticated marketing organizations on earth. On top of what we have built, we are now extending our capabilities into an AI-native creative intelligence platform — one that applies fifteen years of neural data to a set of AI applications that would be genuinely world-first. We continue to deliver exceptional consulting work, scale our productized NeuroAccelerate SaaS offering, and build the AI layer that will define the next chapter of the company. The person in this role will work across all three — from a foundation of proven excellence, not from scratch. The Role This is a judgment job. It is also a project management job. It is also a storytelling job. And increasingly, it is a role for someone who wants to be at the frontier of what applied neuroscience and AI can do together. The Director of Client Strategy is the nerve center of how Neuro-Insight delivers work. You hold the thread from the first client conversation through the final presentation — coordinating between the CEO, the research team, and the client, and ensuring every engagement delivers not just data, but insight that changes how a business thinks and acts. You will work directly with the CEO. You will learn to design and scope neuro studies. You will tease groundbreaking insight out of complex neural data and find ways to make it viscerally clear — to yourself first, then to the client. And you will do all of this with the discipline and preparation that elite client work demands. We are not looking for someone who will grow into ambition. We are looking for someone who already has it — and knows how to channel it into meticulous, client‑ready work. What You'll Work Across 1. Consulting — The Foundation Our consulting practice serves some of the world's most sophisticated marketing organizations. You will manage active engagements end-to-end: scoping studies, coordinating fieldwork and analysis, synthesizing findings into strategic narratives, and presenting to senior client leadership. You will also develop and maintain the client relationships that make this work enduring. 2. NeuroAccelerate — The Product NeuroAccelerate is our productized creative testing platform — a SaaS offering that brings neural measurement to brand teams at scale. You will own client onboarding, ongoing support, and the work of ensuring clients extract maximum value from what the platform reveals. This is a growing revenue stream and a proving ground for our AI strategy. 3. AI Applications — The Frontier This is where it gets genuinely interesting. Neuro-Insight is building toward AI applications that no one has built before — using fifteen years of neural data and 70,000 brain recordings as the substrate for a new generation of creative intelligence tools. You don't need to be an AI engineer. But you need to be someone who understands what this data can do, who gets excited by that possibility, and who can help us communicate it credibly to clients and partners. The Five Capabilities We're Hiring For 1. Industry Fluency — Past, Present, and Future Past: You connect today's client challenges to what's been tried before. You know what worked, what failed, and why — and you bring that context into the room. Present: You meet clients in their language, in their context, against their KPIs and internal realities. Future: You see where the industry is going. You understand what AI is doing to marketing and measurement, and you position Neuro-Insight as the partner who helps clients get there first. 2. Structured Problem-Solving & Project Excellence You bring the discipline of leading strategy firms to every engagement. Hypothesis-driven thinking, zero-defect delivery, tight timelines, and no surprises. You don't show up to client meetings unprepared. You don't say "we'll get back to you" unless you can't avoid it — and when you do, you escalation internally the same day. Over-preparation is the baseline, not the exception. 3. Insight Generation — The Core Differentiator You understand the difference between a finding, an insight, and a solution. You push past surface-level outputs to uncover the human truth in the data. You synthesize neural findings with business context and develop recommendations that clients actually act on. There is a meaningful distinction: Finding: "Brand recall increased 23% in the experimental group" Insight: "Consumers encode the brand most strongly when the product solves a problem they're experiencing in the moment" Solution: "Reframe the brand narrative around solving problems in the moment of need" 4. Client Relationship Mastery You build partnerships, not transactions. You understand stakeholder dynamics, navigate complexity without drama, and turn satisfied clients into long‑term advocates. You know when to push, when to listen, and when to bring in the CEO. Our business grows through deepening relationships — you will own this motion. 5. Communication & Presence You are articulate, calm under pressure, and credible in a room with a CMO. You write clearly. You run meetings with intent. You communicate in the language your clients think in — not the language of research reports. You make complex ideas land. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone from one of three worlds: strategy consulting, the strategy and planning side of a leading creative agency, or a fast-moving tech company or startup where you owned client relationships and built things without a playbook. We are not attached to pedigree. We are attached to capability, hunger, and the self-starting drive that makes someone genuinely excellent. You might have: Started in consulting and moved into marketing strategy or brand work Come from a tech company or startup where ambiguity was the norm and you built client relationships and delivery processes from the ground up Come from the strategy or planning function of a leading creative agency Around 10 years of experience, with clear evidence of owning client relationships and complex projects end-to-end What we will look for in every conversation: Are you prepared? Do you have a point of view? Do you ask the question that cuts to the heart of the problem? Are you someone who, when you don't know something, surfaces it immediately rather than hoping it resolves itself? What we are not looking for: someone waiting to be directed. Someone who treats client meetings as a place to take notes. Someone who mistakes activity for momentum.
