Job Description Dermatologist (MD/DO) Position Summary The Dermatologist provides comprehensive medical, surgical, and preventive care for patients with disorders of the skin, hair, nails, and mucous membranes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide range of dermatologic conditions including inflammatory, infectious, autoimmune, and neoplastic skin disorders Provide medical dermatology care for conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, rosacea, and skin infections Diagnose and manage skin cancers and premalignant lesions Perform dermatologic procedures consistent with training and privileges, such as biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, and electrosurgery Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medication use, and skin cancer prevention Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans Collaborate with primary care providers and specialists such as oncology, rheumatology, allergy/immunology, and plastic surgery Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiatives Supervise and educate residents, fellows, advanced practice providers, or clinical staff as applicable Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards Qualifications Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school Completion of an accredited Dermatology residency program Board-eligible or board-certified in Dermatology Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure DEA registration or eligibility Skills and Competencies Broad expertise in medical and procedural dermatology Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills Excellent communication and patient counseling abilities Ability to manage chronic dermatologic conditions longitudinally Commitment to evidence-based practice and patient-centered care Work Environment Outpatient dermatology clinics with possible inpatient consultation responsibilities Schedule typically includes clinic hours with limited call depending on practice model Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout clinical environments Manual dexterity for dermatologic procedures Visual acuity sufficient for detailed skin examination and procedural work
