Job Description Livingston HealthCare is seeking a Family Medicine Physician with Obstetrics to provide full-spectrum care for patients of all ages in a rural health clinic and critical access hospital setting. This role includes outpatient clinic care, inpatient care, obstetrical care, and critical access hospital call coverage, including OB and pediatric call. Obstetrical care includes prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum services within scope of training and privileges. SCHEDULE: 1.0FTE 32 patient facing hours/week 4 days/week clinic (scheduled between M-F, 8-5) 24hr OB Call (8 Shifts per Month) ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and seniors, including preventive care, routine check-ups, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions. Participate in on-call coverage for the Critical Access Hospital, including: Obstetrical call coverage: On-call Critical Access Hospital OB coverage typically includes eight 24-hour shifts per month, providing obstetric call coverage, supporting labor and delivery needs, and newborn care as appropriate, and coordinating stabilization and transfer when a higher level of care is needed. Provide full-spectrum obstetrical care, including: Prenatal, labor, delivery, and postpartum care Management of pregnancies and deliveries Stabilization and management of obstetrical complications as necessary Participation in shared call coverage for labor and delivery services Perform obstetrical procedures consistent with granted privileges, including but not limited to: Vaginal delivery (term, preterm, post-term) Scheduled, unscheduled, and emergent cesarean deliveries Labor management including induction and augmentation Fetal monitoring (external/internal) Repair of lacerations and episiotomies Postpartum care and complication management Emergency Management of Obstetrical hemorrhages Tubal ligations at the time of cesarean delivery On-call Critical Access Hospital pediatric coverage may include 0–2 24-hour pediatric call shifts per month, depending on staffing and overall call coverage needs. Pediatric call responsibilities include newborn resuscitation, stabilization and transfer of critically ill pediatric patients, pediatric admissions with comprehensive inpatient care, and coverage of the “Kids Care Line,” which supports family phone calls from the clinic. Total expected call coverage for a full-time provider is approximately eight shifts per month. In some months, OB providers may take one or two pediatric call shifts in place of obstetric call shifts to help balance departmental coverage needs. Monitor patients’ health status, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and provide ongoing support to promote disease control and quality of life. Manage chronic conditions across the lifespan, including care of aging populations and medically complex patients. Support care transitions, ensuring continuity between inpatient, outpatient, and specialty services. Provide patient-centered education and counseling, empowering patients to make informed healthcare decisions. Participate actively in Livingston HealthCare’s quality assurance and performance improvement programs. Engage in peer review and ongoing professional development activities. Maintain compliance with regulatory standards, credentialing requirements, and continuing education. Complete all required administrative tasks, including accurate and timely documentation for clinical and billing purposes.
