IMMEDIATE OPENING: Full-Time Water Technician in the Bay Area. We are interested in a quality, career-minded plumber to join our team. REPORT TO OFFICE: 473 Sapen Ct, Suite26, Santa Clara, CA 95054 DUTIES and REQUIREMENTS: Flushes and fills water treatment systems and tests feed rates. Measures amount of chemical in water and makes adjustments. Inspect chemical dispensers, looks for leaks and make repairs. Flushes and drains dispensers and adds chemical. Completes installation of water treatment system when needed. Must complete service schedule and assigned route of customers with of water treatment dispensers. Follow preventative maintenance schedules and perform routine inspection and descaling for water heaters. Document preventive maintenance and communication found repair as required, to customer and schedule with dispatcher. Maintain accurate work order records of completed work and materials used. Complete all necessary paperwork in a timely and professional manner. Perform all work while following Bench’s safety rules and regulations. Clean out work area of debris and leave in a clean and orderly state. Other duties may be assigned. ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Provides guidelines to building owner, management or manager on maintaining and servicing water treatment dispensers and counsels them on importance of water treatment and descaling. Completes paperwork and keeps account records updated. Determines parts needed, and stock service vehicle with all parts and materials needed for jobs on a daily basis. Maintains service schedule for employee issued truck. Furnishes reports to managers and notifies them of any problems. Performing misc. company errands/projects assigned by the Branch Manager as needed. BENEFITS: Annual Pay-based on experience. Core Work period is Monday – Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm some OT. Position is required to participation with other technicians on rotating On-Call schedule. Service Truck, Insurance and Fuel costs provided after completion of training period (for Company Use Only). It was one of the two lumber yards owned by Reuben Major and his brother, Weeden Major. The other was located in Kearney, MO. Originally much of the lumber came from Arkansas lumber mills owned by the Major family who had moved to this area from Arkansas. Another brother, John Sleet Major, was one of the founders of William Jewell College and was one of the original organizers of the First National Bank of Liberty. By 1928 the lumber yard, now located in its current location, was owned and operated by Charles Oran and Yates Major, sons of Reuben Major. In this new location it was nearer to the railroad and also on higher ground. The flood of 1965 proved that the location was not high enough. Everything was destroyed as water surged through downtown Smithville. The only surviving building contained cement and was too heavy to float. As the water receded, one day after the floor Major Lumber resumed servicing its customers with what lumber it could scrape together. Much of the lumber was salvaged from many downstream location where it had floated. Over the next 25 years the yard was slowly rebuilt and expanded. In 1975, upon the death of Oran Major, his son Ron Major took over the lumber yard and has operated it until the present time. The yard servers consumers and contractors in the Clay-Platte area. Major Lumber is the oldest business in Smithville. In the metro Kansas City area it is the second oldest family owned lumber company. Their motto is "We make the Major Difference."
