Reporting to the Production Lead, Operator role involves the following: · This position will be trained to Operate Computer Numerical Control (CNC) lathes and mills. · Learn to perform machine set-ups, adjusting speeds, feeds, and depth of cut, on machined parts to specifications set forth in, drawings. · Checks machined parts for conformance to part prints using basic shop inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, sine plates, etc.) · Learn to read and interpret blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences. · Mounts, aligns, and secures tooling, attachments, and work piece on machine · Learn to load program in machine or enters commands to retrieve preprogrammed instructions from data base · Discusses programming opportunities of improvement with supervisor to resolve problems or improve performance. · Clean machine, tooling, and parts · Perform machine maintenance · Clean-up of work area, and other areas of the facility as asked adhering to 5S principles · May be asked to assist in other plant functions under direct supervision of the shop team lead · Performs other duties as assigned or needed to better a department or company · Exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or · Exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects · This position may require long hours and weekend work due to production, rework or customer deadlines · Experience with CNC Haas lathe is a plus. This position is responsible for welding and assembling various types of metals, including mild steel, stainless steel, manganese, and aluminum. Successful candidates will be able to work independently from assembly drawings, detail drawings, and sketches, and operate a variety of shop equipment with minimal supervision. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform welding tasks using MIG and TIG welding techniques as required. Weld metal components of products such as steel bar, plates, and aluminum fabrications. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications. Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and cutting. Position, clamp, and assemble workpieces for welding using jigs or fixtures. Operate drill presses, power saws, grinders, torches, pipe threaders, press brake, and rollers. Inspect finished welds for quality, bead size, and structural integrity. Maintain and safely operate welding equipment and tools. Follow safety procedures, use proper personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean work area. Collaborate with team members and other departments to meet project deadlines.
