How you’ll make an impact in this role Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a Full‑Time High‑Risk OB Hospitalist to work in a Level IV Perinatal Care Center. This role acts as a Maternal‑Fetal Medicine (MFM) extender, managing high‑risk patients, triaging, and performing deliveries, often in conjunction with MFM specialists. Clinical Duties Daily rounds with MFM, high‑risk deliveries, and assessing incoming maternal transports. Estimated between 1‑5 deliveries per shift. Facility Details Located at St. Vincent Women’s Hospital (Indianapolis), featuring a Level IV NICU and a new nine‑story woman’s and children’s tower. Schedule Roles involve 12‑ or 24‑hour shifts with no traditional on‑call, designed to support work‑life balance. Annual hours worked are 1,872 144 hours of PTO. Teir increase in hourly compensation for excess shifts beyond 78 annually. Requirements Board Certified/Board Eligible OB/GYN MD/DO with at least 2‑5 years of experience preferred. Collaboration Working within a supportive environment with MFM specialists, residents, and APP services. Responsibilities Provide medical services to patients in an assigned area. Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinate discharge planning with case management. Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients. Accept patient referrals from other physicians. Act as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital. Participate in academic programs (eg medical education and research) as requested. Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner. Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules. What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need Licensure / Certification / Registration Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Education Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
