DHD Medical, P.C. is a New York-based medical practice specializing in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, interventional pain management, and injury rehabilitation. The practice treats patients with work‑related injuries, motor vehicle accidents, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions through a multidisciplinary approach focused on restoring function and improving quality of life. We are currently looking to hire a full‑time physiatrist or a physician with an interventional pain fellowship to work at our office in Midtown. Responsibilities Examining patients that may need to undergo physical therapy. Diagnosing pain as a result of an injury, disease, or a disabling condition. Determining and implementing appropriate treatment plans for patients. Recommending and performing various medical procedures, such as trigger point injections, soft tissue, and joint injections to treat pain and improve physical functioning. Leading a team of medical professionals, including physical therapists, to optimize patient care. Monitoring ongoing progress and health of patients, and changing treatment plans as necessary. Performing or monitoring the performance of electrodiagnostic testing (EMG/NCV). Counseling patients and their families and helping them adapt to lifestyle changes. Ordering clinically appropriate testing such as X‑rays, CT scans, ultrasounds, and MRIs. Recommending consultation with orthopedists, neurologists, psychologists, spine specialists, and pain management specialists. Performing initial evaluations to determine a patient’s need and ability to participate in the rehabilitation process. Conducting periodic re‑evaluations of patients to determine progress and changes or discontinuance of treatment. Prescribing appropriate orthotic devices as clinically indicated and checking for proper fitting of such devices. Keeping complete medical records of all services provided and the patients’ progress. Documenting ranges of motion with a handheld goniometer. Performing other duties as requested. Knowledge & Experience Experience working in an outpatient musculoskeletal practice preferred. Knowledge about the different types of physical rehabilitation treatments and programs for different injuries. Leading a team of physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, and monitoring their job performance based on patient care. Ability to treat patients of all ages. Experience with injections and writing prescriptions. Working with patients on determining pain management strategies. Education & Training M.D./D.O. Board‑Certified or Board‑Eligible with the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR). Skills & Abilities Exceptional attention to detail. Wonderful bedside manner. Excellent communicator who can empathize with patients. Effective interpersonal skills, problem‑solving, and analytical skills. Basic computer skills. Description As a 1099 physiatrist, you will diagnose and provide direct specialist services to patients for pain management and physical rehabilitation from work-related injuries. You will work in a team environment with physical therapists, chiropractors, acupuncture, and other clinical staff under the referral of the occupational medicine physician. You’ll also collaborate with employers in active case management.
