Assigns staff to work assignments and coordinates equipment maintenance throughout the NCH Healthcare System. Acts as a liaison for patient care activities with outside departments. Observes activities of staff, set expectations, coach and counsel. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned. Produces images which demonstrate a thorough knowledge of radiographic technique (collimation, ID markers, and patient demographics), anatomical positioning, and equipment performance. Trains new employees in accordance with established procedures and practices. Ensures all staff are trained to work at any site, any shift including taking call responsibility as required. Assures timely accomplishment of assignments and ensures they meet organizational objectives. Instructs employees in specific tasks and job techniques, making sure protocols are accurate and followed. Follows standard precautions. Resolves simple informal complaints of staff and refers others to Radiology Administration. Complies with JCAHO rules and regulations and assures proper training of staff. Demonstrates support and follows policies for the Radiography Student Program. Provides all aspects of patient care based on established standards. Demonstrates competency in all procedures within scope of practice, as appropriate to the ages of patients served; the ability to obtain information and interpret information in terms of the patient's needs; knowledge of growth and development and an understanding of the range of treatment of the patients. Adequate assessment of department and staffing needs. Participates in the peer interview process; interview and hire. Maintain all equipment in good operating condition, making sure all repairs are completed in an acceptable timeframe. Completes staff evaluations in a timely manner. Directs, motivates and guides staff to efficiently complete procedures while delivering excellent patient care. Demonstrates competency using the Radiographic Information System. Demonstrates competency using the PACS. Demonstrates competency in Departmental communication (telephone, pagers and intercom). Maintains clean and well stocked work area. Assists in training and orientation of new employees. Ensures each new employee completed new employee checklists and department orientation. Strives to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all employees. Meets and exceeds the expectations of patients and all other customers we serve. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS High School or GED required. Satisfactory completion of a formal Radiologic Technology Program in an approved school. Licensed as a Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) in the State of Florida. ARRT registered in R (Radiography). Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Radiographer. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.

We're searching for an Associate Medical Director - Managed Care, Utilization Management, someone who's ready to be part of the best ranked children's hospital in Texas, and among the best in the nation. In this position, you will be responsible for establishing health plans and medical policies. The Associate Medical Director provides guidance to areas within departments of the Texas Children's Health Plan (TCHP); oversees assigned functions of the health plan; provides support, education, and consultation to Texas Children's System staff and physicians, regarding resource utilization, managed care and continuity of care issues. Job Duties & Responsibilities - Working with the CMOs and Medical Directors, you will oversee and provide recommendations to continuously improve the implementation of medical management programs as outlined in the policy and procedures. Working with the CMOs provides input into the development of standards for behavioral health care, practice guidelines, and medication management. Oversees the clinical professional review of behavioral health care by the registered nurses employed by the Health Plan and ensures regulatory compliance. - Working with the CMOs and Medical Director for Utilization Management, provides input into the development of medical care guidelines for utilization of behavioral health services. Completes medical necessity reviews and appeals of requests for medical care based upon evidence-based guidelines approved by the CAAC, using appropriate independent clinical judgment and not adversely influenced by fiscal management decisions. Documents denials of services not meeting medical necessity. Ensures that the UM Program reflects current philosophies in managed care and the stated values and goals of Texas Children's. - Working with the CMOs, develops guidelines and ensures office sites and medical records meet the standards for proper behavioral health care. Educates providers, as necessary. Supervises the use of physician profiles and educates the providers in the interpretation of these profiles. - Using data obtained through encounter and claims information, and electronic medical records from the group practices and hospital, monitors outcomes of members. This function is also done in conjunction with the CMOs, Medical Affairs Office and the Quality and Outcomes Management Department. Identifies strategies to affect outcomes. - Regulatory compliance and compliance with accreditation agencies -such as NCQA and TDI. Works with personnel in exceeding requirement of federal, state and accreditation agencies, and prepares for inspection and reviews by the above agencies. - Participate in other Committees as directed by the CMO's affecting patient care and medical policy, teaching programs and consults on managed care as necessary. Interacts with and participates in committees and medical functions of outside agencies to include primary HMOs, state and federal agencies, and professional organizations as directed by the CMOs. - Quality Management: Participates in the QM Program of the Health Plan, and the Quality Improvement Committee (QIC), the staff committee entrusted with all aspects of QM for the Health Plan. Collaborates with CMOs on establishing QI standards and assures their implementation and use. Ensures that approved medical protocols, rules of conduct and compliance with standards of public health is followed by Plan medical staff and providers. Nuclear Medicine - Physician

VA Boston Healthcare System Veterans Health Administration The VA Boston Healthcare System is seeking a Permanent, Full-Time Staff Radiologist to provide a full range of Diagnostic Radiology services to our Veterans. The nuclear medicine service skills desired include, but are not limited to, interpretation of general nuclear medicine studies, nuclear medicine cardiac studies, and PET/CT studies in addition to limited non-imaging uses of unsealed sources such as thyroid probe uptake measurements. The applicant should be skilled in the administration of therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals including, but not limited to, I-131 sodium iodide, Ra-223 dichloride, and Y-90 microspheres. As an authorized user, the applicant must be able to take responsibility for, and oversee, all aspects of the division's compliance with NRC regulations with the assistance of the radiation safety officer and the chief nuclear medicine technologist. For Diagnostic Radiology, it is required that the candidates have experience/skill pertaining to body imaging. A full complement of diagnostic radiology is offered, including CT, MR, US. VABHS is a 467-bed facility located on three campuses in the Boston metropolitan area. Nuclear medicine is a division of the Department of Radiology. Nuclear medicine equipment includes 3 SPECT-CT cameras and a PET-CT scanner. The division of nuclear medicine provides tele-radiology, PET-CT and intermittent cardiac nuclear studies interpretation services for several other VA New England Healthcare System facilities. The division also accepts referrals for therapeutic radiopharmaceutical treatments from these facilities as well. Requirements U.S. Citizenship Must be proficient in written and spoken English. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
