We evaluate children from across Kentucky and Southern Indiana who are suspected victims of child maltreatment. Through our fellowship accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), our team has trained fellows who have gone on to provide care from Maine to South Dakota. Norton Childrens Pediatric Protection Specialists sees children at Norton Childrens Hospital, a freestanding tertiary and quarternary care facility, and we perform case reviews for children who are not seen in person. Our child abuse pediatricians work in tandem with a nurse or nurse practitioner on all cases, with responsibility for evaluation, case management, on call, report writing and court testimony when needed.
