Performs a variety of activities with only a normal level of supervision to set up and operate CNC machines to mill, drill, ream, tap, etc. a variety of parts to drawings and specifications. Monitors work to make sure that the equipment is operating properly. Down loads programs from network server to machine and edits as required and or noted on program. Pre-sets tooling, loads tooling into tool changer, adjusts offsets, installs fixtures and sets reference points for programs. Dry runs programs on control; runs live piece. Able to correctly touch off tools, indicate fixtures in location and make other minor adjustments required for proper operation of machine tool. Authority and awareness to disposition nonconforming product. Inspect first piece and obtain approval from designated person. Check parts during run according to procedures, specifications and customer requirements using a variety of gauges from calipers, micrometers, thread gages, depth micrometers, surface plate with height gage, and other equipment. Makes general decisions regarding quality, tolerances, and sequence of operations. Inspects work in process for conformance to functional and aesthetics specifications. Identifies and resolves routine and some non-routine issues through effective troubleshooting. Set ups and completes secondary operations and/or machines or processes as required or instructed. Perform daily maintenance checks on all equipment operated. Exercise proper care in the use of tools, equipment and materials. Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material, improper operations and unusual conditions to supervision. Communicates effectively with internal company partners in performing assigned tasks. Assists less experienced employees with more complex issues. Keeps the supervisor aware in a timely manner of any issues needing the supervisor’s involvement Maintains timely and accurate records and reports, as required. Observe good housekeeping and safety habits. Supports change and company/departmental goals through actions and behaviors. Communicates effectively with co-workers and internal customers; and performs assignments in a timely and efficient manner while meeting customer quality expectations. Requirements High school education is required. Has the necessary training to be proficient in the position. Has at least 5 - 8 years of CNC Mill set up & operating experience and routinely meet performance goals. Has excellent communications and interpersonal skills to be able to interact effectively with others to meet customer needs. Ability to perform basic math calculations such as decimal/fraction conversions and reading measuring tools. Must be able to properly use a variety of gauges from calipers, micrometers, thread gages, depth micrometers, surface plate with height gage, and other equipment. Has basic computer skills and is proficient with all related company systems and programs. Has moderate analytical and problem-solving abilities to meet the requirements of the position. JOB SUMMARY The CNC Operator I produces machined parts by operating a computer numerical controlled (CNC) Lathes and/or Mills with minimal supervision. Job Description Job Description Description Operations Electrical Engineer – New York Operations Work Location: Watertown or Fulton, NY Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Operations, the Operations Electrical Engineer will plan, organize, and direct engineering activities to update and optimize hydropower facilities throughout New York State. Responsibilities Manage the design, specification, cost, construction, and commissioning of capital improvement projects relating to electrical power generation and electrical distribution up to 115KV. Prepare tendering documents, reviews and comments on bid packages to ensure design adequacy, electrical code compliance and constructability. Assist operations and compliance staff to ensure NERC and NPCC regulatory compliance. Provide operations staff with electrical safety training and act as subject matter expert for lock out tag out, arc flash analysis and identifying electrical safe work practices required for compliance with OSHA standards. Provide engineering support to operational staff to improve reliability and performance. Support will involve troubleshooting of equipment and determination of failures. Manage internal and external engineering resources to develop documents needed for construction and permitting. Work with the interconnecting utility to determine root cause for system faults or disturbances. Provide field inspection of all work in place to ensure that work performed is in accordance with the contract drawings, specifications, regulatory requirements, and applicable codes. Recommends corrective courses of action to management as issues arise. Apply the Brookfield Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures to all projects. Responsibilities: - Perform welding duties using MIG, TIG, Wire Welder, Spot Welder and/or oxy/acetylene torch. - Set up and lay out work using material handling equipment or hand layouts to fabricate or rework finished products. - Manual set up of hand held sanders, grinders, wire wheels or other finishing hand held tools. - Welding I-Beam, Frame and Fuel Tanks in flat, vertical or overhead positions. - Clamp, hold, tack weld, drill, mill, tap, cut and/or bolt together components to obtain required configuration and positions for complete welding process. - Inspect products, equipment and tools for defect and malfunction. - Create quality welds according to blue prints/specifications. - Inspect all welds and re-work as necessary. - Change wire and gas on weld machine as necessary. - Ensure equipment properly set up and used in a safe manner during welding process. - Maintain welding equipment and machines, inspect regularly and request maintenance as needed. - Assist/participate in fuel tank pressure testing as required and rework as necessary. - Perform work to timely standard and quality expectations. - Account for time and work completed through means of weekly timesheets. - Report and document basic material, production, quality or safety issues to direct supervisor or management.
