Inbound Inspector

Job Description Job Description Position Summary: The Inbound Inspector is responsible for inspecting railcars after arrival to the Company yard and prepares and provides accurate estimates for projects by gathering information and analyzing important metrics. The ideal candidate will provide knowledge of cost and benefits that support profitable business decisions. The goal is to provide detailed reports so the company can make informed decisions that will enhance its profitability and growth. Tasks: Inspect cars for all DOT, FRA, and AAR defects. Read and understand Scopes of Work (SOW’s) Understand drawings and how to get parts off the drawings to ensure ordering of correct parts. Build the car file and supporting documentation needed to repair car. Enter car information into Railcar RX and generate the BRC. Send BRC to the client for approval to work the car. Once the car is approved and saved, update Railcar RX and move car to repair. Complete requisition forms to order parts for cars as needed. Correspond with client regarding any issues with the car and generate any additional work for approval. Review car file and add any additional work to the BRC before the file moves to invoicing. Has a complete understanding of the AAR field manual for job codes and Y made codes. Understand the project and its requirements. Determine key variables for cost and other estimates. Gather first-hand information from sites, warehouses, or other venues. Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times etc. Obtain and review offers and quotes from subcontractors or vendors. Perform risk analysis. Create and submit estimate reports or bids to appropriate persons (plant managers, clients, bidding competitions etc.) Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers etc.) Provide consultation on planning (schedules, manpower needs etc.) Skills: Mechanically inclined Be able to enter DATA into the computer. Must be able to work at elevated heights. Must be able to perform in confined spaces to inspect cars when needed. Must be able to read and comprehend basic drawings and scope of work. Must possess basic math skills: addition and subtraction. Job Description – Performs specific assignments to ensure that equipment in various manufacturing, packaging and related areas operate properly and is maintained. Operates, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs equipment associated with the packaging of pharmaceutical products. Performs routine preventive maintenance, equipment changeovers, equipment cleaning and set-up. Performs duties with advanced skill on many different types of equipment. Applies advanced working knowledge and experience to independently improve maintenance techniques and operations. Job Responsibilities: · Adheres strictly to all cGMP’s, PPG’s, regulatory and safety standards and procedures to ensure the quality and integrity of products and safety of employees · Keeps working area in a clean and orderly condition according to PPG’s and 5S principles · Ensures that all machine guards, interlocks and other safety devices are properly installed and maintained in good working order. Movement and weighing of heavy containers from 50 – 100 lbs. with appropriate equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Work may involve exposure to raw materials such as pharmaceutical active ingredients (PAI’s), which may require the use of personal protective equipment (gloves, aprons, safety shoes, goggles, face shield or respirators), exposure to high temperature water and steam and wet floors, handling of flammable liquids, caustic solutions and compounds. Education: High school or equivalent (Required) Experience: Mechanic: 2 years (Required) Must be available to work 2nd or 3rd shift. 12 hour shifts, required to work 2 weekends a month.
